Sixth Sunday in Lent
The Sunday of the Passion
The Divine Service
Last Sunday, together with Christians the world over, we celebrated the beginning of Holy Week. With palm branches in hand, we read the entire passion narrative from the Gospel of Luke, that is, all of chapters 22 and 23 or that Gospel.
Bible Class
From sundown, Thursday until sundown, Sunday:
Three Days that Changed the World.
In preparation to worship, we took a careful look at the events of Holy Week, and saw that the Last Supper and the Crucifixion actually occurred on the same day–as Jews reckoned time in that era. Furthermore, we see that Jesus don’t rise at the beginning of the first day of the week, but right in the middle of it!

The Collect for Palm Sunday
Almighty and everlasting God, You sent Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, to take upon Himself our flesh and to suffer death upon the cross. Mercifully grant that we may follow the example of His great humility and patience and be made partakers of His resurrection; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
